Angela, 38, is the proud mother of two young sons. To support them, she worked as an Instacart shopper. But when Angela was diagnosed with COVID-19 before vaccines were available, she had no choice but to stop working.
Like any parent, she was stressed about how she’d pay the bills and keep food on the table. But, she says of your generosity, “You were there to help pick up the pieces.”
That’s because Angela could take home nutritious groceries for her family from Harvesters’ Mobile Food Pantry.
“If it wasn’t for you guys doing this, we wouldn’t have made it,” Angela says through tears.
Though one of Angela’s sons also contracted the virus, the family is healthy today, thanks in part to your generosity.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of people experiencing food insecurity — often for the first time in their lives — has continued to surge. Food insecurity is when a person doesn’t have reliable access to affordable and nutritious food for themselves or their family.
With the support of friends like you, Harvesters has been there to help.
