Donor Spotlight: Dave Geiman
We are honored to highlight longtime donor Dave Geiman, who has long held a passion for both hunger relief and education. That passion has led to Dave and his wife, Jeanne, choosing to designate a portion of their estate to Harvesters.
How long have you been involved with Harvesters?
My wife and I have been involved since 2001.
Why do you support Harvesters?
I was surprised to learn the number of people in the United States — and even within our own community — who are facing hunger each day. If you are hungry, it is hard to be productive. If you are hungry, you are miserable.
What do you value most about Harvesters?
Harvesters is extremely efficient and professional. They are very well organized and because of this, they’re able to serve a lot of people.
How does giving to Harvesters make you feel?
I feel lucky to live in a developed country, have a good family, good opportunities, an education and a college degree. I have the desire and obligation to spread that luck around.
If you could encourage someone else to offer their support, what would you say?
It is not hard to do really good work, and you don’t need a lot of money to do that good work. You can give through an estate gift, or even monthly giving. There are many ways to support Harvesters.
